Feed Me Vegan: Lucy Watson
About this deal
The recipes don't have over complicated methods or ingredients and there's a good variety of recipes on offer. The question is – does it live up to the reviews and is it worth shelling out your hard earned cash for? Like a ‘the other half is away and I want to sit on the sofa with a dish of Mac and back-to-back episodes of Teen Mom’ kind of an evening.
Lucy is a force for good on her Instagram; sharing vegan tips and recommendations to encourage her fans to try a more plant-based and cruelty-free lifestyle. I read some reviews that said the recipes are quite basic and not very imaginative but actually it's exactly what I needed; to learn how to adapt meals we already know and love, to being vegan. I take my hat off to her, she has used her fame to spread the vegan message and has done a delicious job of doing so.Packed with comforting, easy-to-make and totally delicious recipes, proving you can be vegan and still have your cake (and mac and cheese, and lasagne, and pancakes) and eat it. So impressed, the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the use of vegan cheese - its gross not for me, I knew this before this cook book.
You would be amazed at the amount to cookery books that get it wrong, be it measurements or method or simply resulting in unappetising food.Passionate vegan Lucy Watson has you covered with tempting meals from breakfast to supper - as well as all the sweet treats and snacks you need in between! I often make a vegan choice when I'm eating out and it's available but it's harder to give up staple favourites for cooking. Enough to turn the head of even the most dedicated carnivore, Feed Me Vegan is full of tasty, satisfying vegan fare which will have everyone asking for seconds. This is a really great book for a new or relatively new vegan who has some experience in the kitchen.
If I hadn’t just polished off my bottle of vegan Bailey’s Irish Cream I would have nailed that recipe. Banana and Buckwheat Pancakes, Black Bean Chilli, Mushroomy Mac ’N’ Cheese and the Lemon and Yoghurt Loaf Cake. Feed Me Vegan: For All Occasions is full of easy recipes for everyday veganism, from a quick, week night pasta to blow-out Sunday feasts.I don't really eat sweet food so maybe too much coverage of cakes and sweets for us, but there's lots of main meals, breakfasts and a great selection of sides and sauces to make, and each section is fairly equally weighted. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is new to veganism or struggling to make the transition. In her first recipe book, Feed Me Vegan, Lucy Watson has you covered with tempting meals from breakfast to supper - as well as all the sweet treats and snacks you need in between! We try and ensure all of our product information is correct and up to date however please do note that products and their ingredients and or allergen information are liable to change. To be honest that didn’t really bother me, it’s just that they look fluffier in the pan than they turn out to be.
