About this deal

However "It's My Shadow" that follows is perhaps, for me at least, the lowest point of the album, it's not that there's anything actually wrong with this nice reflective slice of Britpop but in the company of the other great songs here nice and reflective is all it is. In May, a follow-up vinyl set was released, covering the three studio albums released between 1999-2003.

In March 2011, the band released a 15th anniversary special edition of their 1996 hit album Moseley Shoals. But whether it's wisdom or self-belief thee rest of "Moseley Shoals" isn't to be found wanting because while eight of the remaining nine tracks may not be as familiar they do pass the fab-or-filler test even if [spoiler alert] they don't all perhaps adhere to a strict Britpop template.

Go ahead and give it a try, you'll be singing the Riverboat Song before you know it with memories of some entertaining moments seen on TFI Friday. It's not the just songwriting or the playing that makes these songs so very good, that's not to say that the songwriting isn't good, it is, and so is the playing from all four musicians, but it's in the arrangements and the production by Bernard Lynch and OCS where their strength lies; they've really thrown in the bells and whistles, although perhaps not real bells and whistles, and that's what makes these songs work; they're collages of carefully arranged small fragments of sound that have been pasted together but not in a throw-in-the-kitchen-sink-and-make-everything-louder-than everything-else way, these songs been crafted with journeyman precision and it's an absolute joy to listen to them in my headphones.Records that aren't in picture sleeves will either be in a company sleeve or a generic plain sleeve. Moseley’ takes its name from an area in Birmingham, ‘Moseley Shoals’ is a tribute to Muscle Shoals, the legendary soul recording studios in Alabama.

We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. The band had formed during the height of Madchester, but they never released their first album until the scene was already dead, which left them without a following. They even played on the "Moseley Shoals 15th Anniversary Tour", which they didn't originally record on. With their unique sound and dedication to their craft, they continue to captivate audiences worldwide. In 1998 they headlined their own arena tour in support of Marchin' Already and played three sold out nights at Stirling Castle, Scotland. On the back of these performances, Weller invited guitarist Steve Cradock to play on one of his singles, and vocalist Simon Fowler to sing on his album, Wild Wood. Their recording studio "Moseley Shoals" in Moseley, Birmingham pays homage to the famous Muscle Shoals studio in America. Fleeting Mind" that follows is another that has a sixties British folk-pop sound but with sharp jagged guitar work from Steve Craddock whose playing throughout the album is just phenomenal.

A low-key start to their career was boosted by two things – the endorsement of two of Britain’s biggest pop stars – Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and the exposure given to the first single, The Riverboat Song, by Chris Evans on his hit TV show ‘TFI Friday’.A low-key start to their career was boosted by two things – the endorsement of two of Britain’s biggest pop stars – Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and the exposure given to the first single, "The Riverboat Song", by Chris Evans on his hit TV show TFI Friday. Very uplifting and hard hitting tracks / guitar riffs - a few of which have been employed by popular movies. By the time Ocean Colour Scene released their debut album in 1992, they were already considered has-beens.
