About this deal

The Sinclair Series pays homage to our Founder, John Sinclair, with a number of delicious whiskies handcrafted at our distillery.

Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. Fully matured in Bordeaux red wine casks, with layers of heather and pine cones, intertwining with woody sea salt leading to floral notes and lime pastilles. Ledaig was in fact the original name for the distillery, when it was founded in the Ledaig area of Mull by John Sinclair. This unpeated 10-Year-Old Distillery Exclusive has been finished for four years in first fill port casks, creating a sweet and fruity Tobermory dram.

When it reopened in 1878, the Ledaig deeds and ownership were passed from pillar to post before closing for a second time in 1930, as there was a drop in the demand for whisky due to prohibition in the United States. Finish: A wondrous union of sublimely spicy white pepper, the vibrant sweetness of liquorice and a kick of cloves with a exquisite lingering saltiness. Despite a colourful history marked by closures, financial troubles and even a change of name, today Tobermory is a thriving, expressive and unique distillery, true to its idyllic location on the Hebridean island of Mull. At Tobermory we produce two distinct single malts made for half the year each: a non-peated Tobermory and a heavily-peated Ledaig. This 9 year old Ledaig single malt whisky, bottled in 2019, is one of 411 bottles aged exclusively in a refill hogshead.

Please note local Duties and Taxes may be charged by Customs in the destination country and the receiver is responsible for paying them. Small batch distilled at our distillery on Mull, we combine hand selected botanicals with a splash of spirit from the Tobermory whisky stills to create three deliciously unique gins. This mystery peated whisky from the Isle Of Mull is a spirit known by the original distillery name, meaning ‘safe haven’. Expect notes of caramel, fruit and rose petal, balanced with hints of oak, leather and an unusually dry and nutty finish. After Sinclair’s first application was rejected, he persevered, remained true to his original vision and, a year later, the distillery was established. My recent review on the Cadenhead’s Tomatin 12 really blew the doors off in realising how magical that independent bottler is.
