About this deal

From the trap, the waste pipe must run through your outside wall to a hopper head or gully, or directly into a soil stack. The smooth spout and handle design is classy, sophisticated and will add that touch of class that you have been looking for. Lead times are shown on the product and trolley pages and are always advertised in working days (Monday to Friday). Once you are sure that frozen pipes aren’t the issue, follow the instructions in the previous ‘how to drain a washing machine’ section. It is possible to connect your dishwasher and washing machine to one waste pipe under your sink; often, it is the better and more efficient option.

If this sounds like you, the solution is to attach your washing machine, dishwasher or both to a combined waste outlet that stems from your sink waste. Ensure your washing machine safely disposes of wastewater and by-products with our range of washing machine hoses and connectors.

An alternative is to have all circuits in that room on an RCD/RCBO, but that didn't apply when this house was built. You can then fit a 50 cm door to the front of the appliance which neatly covers the carcass and the spacers. If your appliance is built into your kitchen cabinets, then all the connection guidance above will still apply. However, you might find yourself stuck if you don’t have the means, ability or access to plumb in a new washing machine or dishwasher and waste pipe feeding to the outside drain.

Some parts can also be used in dishwashers and include fittings made by some of the industry’s best-known and most trusted brands. Every washing machine is different and drain hoses are available in a number of sizes online or at plumbing merchants. Washing machine and dishwasher inlet hose connectors use a 3/4 inch BSP thread (measures about 1 inch with a ruler), see BSPT link at bottom of page for more information about British Standard Pipe Thread sizes. These duel nozzle waste traps funnel the wastewater of your washing machine and dishwasher through your sink waste pipe and to the outside drain. NOTE : Some parts will look different to the original due to manufacturers modifications and updates.Ideally the copper pipe and washing machine valve would twist clockwise so the outlet of the appliance valve points upwards, the copper pipe should turn quite easily in those hep push fit connectors. Place your dishwasher and washing machine on a firm, level floor or use a spirit level and adjust the feet to make the appliance level to prevent excessive vibrations. Pop a couple of 22mm snap over pipeclips where the washing machine and dishwasher pipes could come from, just above the valve in that space to the left of the ISO valves, then down onto the y piece.

Safety first If you’re fitting a washing machine in your bathroom, you won’t be able to put a socket or switched fused connection unit in there. In this case using solder-ring T pieces and copper tube, you'll need some wire-wool to clean the pipe, some flux, a blow-torch, a heatproof mat/shield and the ability to turn off the water supply and drain the pipes.

Splits one 3/4 inch BSP (standard thread size for the end of washing machine and dishwasher inlet / fill hoses) connection into two, could be used to connect a dishwasher and washing machine or fridge to the same valve. Also useful if you only have a cold supply and your older washing machine needs hot and cold water supplies.

If you’re attaching a plinth across the base of your cabinets, you may need to cut a groove in the top edge to allow the correct door opening.

As long as you can turn off the water, then all you need to do, is undo the chrome nut holding the existing valve on, pull off the valve, throw away the nut on the new valve, and just fit the double valve onto the existing nut on the pipe.
