Nearly every red wine from Rioja and the Ribero del Duero uses Tempranillo as the heart of their blended wines, and in Portugal, as Tinto Roriz, it is a key component of the fortified Port blend. Our commitment to shaping their sustainable futures is unwavering, and we strive to find the perfect balance between honouring local winemaking tradition while pioneering advanced, modern techniques to make the very best wine our land can produce. This is a slow and controlled process, enabling all the colour and aroma from the grapes to be extracted. A particular feature at Beronia are the mixed oak barrels, where the body staves of the cask are made from American oak, while the ends are French. The must of the best grapes ferments slowly and carefully, with periodic comebacks, to extract the desired color and aromas and then perform malolactic deposits. A wine portfolio of the highest quality, quintessentially Rioja and Rueda, with our unique Beronia style.
Wrapped in wood will rest for another year, before being bottled and rest for a minimum of three months in the bottle to acquire its unmistakable bouquet before being released to the market. Made exclusively from sustainably sourced, premium quality tempranillo, graciano and mazeulo grapes, the Beronia Crianza is a bright and fresh red wine full of cherry fruits and raspberries, sweet clove spice and threads of rosemary and thyme. Following harvest, the grapes underwent cold maceration for a few days so as to extract aromas and colour however not tannins. The General Wine Company is a family-owned and operated wine merchant in Liphook, Hampshire, England. Its intense and fresh nose is always rich in nuances, highlighting red fruits such as cherries and raspberries in perfect harmony with mineral touches and memories of aromatic herbs. Complex and attractive on the nose, it displays distinct aromas of berries (redcurrants and blueberries); herbal notes (camomile) and hints of spice (pepper) and nuts (walnuts). Almost five decades since we began, our award-winning, pioneering wines are enjoyed amongst friends around the world.
Beronia was founded by friends who were missing a key component to their culinary creations; the perfect wine. Tempranillo wines are ruby-red in colour, with notes of red-berries, plum, tobacco, vanilla, leather, and herbs. They were the first winery in Europe to gain LEED - Leader in Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Design, and a number of their vineyards are certified organic.Located in the between central Spain and the heart of the Basque country, Rioja has been one of Spain's hallmark wine producing regions for generations. The Beronia Crianza is a Riojan red wine made mainly from the Tempranillo variety, which is accompanied by the red garnacha and, testimonially, the mazuelo. On the palate, it has a meaty, well-structured feel with black fruits standing out, along with notes of cocoa, mint and a hint of tobacco. The wine was then transferred to mixed oak barrels with American staves and French tops where it was aged for 9 months.
