About this deal

Vividly presented through full-colour maps and graphics, this fully revised and updated atlas profiles species lost, threatened and surviving today. An Atlas of Endangered Species shows us that the battle is on for their survival - and we all have a part to play. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I thought the book is well made its lovely, its nicely presented with further details on the subject and with the added Megan's experiences etc.

As well as some of the well known species that are teetering on the edge of the abyss that is extinction, she also covers some lesser known species. We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts.

She most recently presented Springwatch, alongside Chris Packham, and is the founder of The Self-Isolating Bird Club on twitter, and co-founder of Wildlife Rebellion. The diversity of life on earth is astounding, with each species perfectly adapted to its environment. An Atlas of Endangered Animals' is a beautifully illustrated, fascinating and important document of an incredible world at risk, and, just maybe, a handbook for restoring it. Megan's enthusiasm for biodiversity and passion to save endangered species from extinction shines throughout. Much like her presenting style, Megan McCubbin's writing has an effortless appeal to a diverse audience, from the curious child to the most seasoned of conservationists.Richard Mackay is a specialist in environmental impact assessment and environmental policy maker for major companies. This book takes just 20 of these amazing creatures, from the 'celebrities' of the red list - the tigers, the northern white rhino, the kakapo - to the lesser-known, and sometimes lesser loved ones, and paints a portrait of them, their world, and the people trying to protect them.

Beautifully written, capturing the wonder and personality of each creature, big and small perfectly. Most well-known for presenting the BAFTA award-winning BBC Springwatch series and Animal Park , Megan is a passionate science communicator and biodiversity activist. Megan McCubbin reveals the stories of the scientists, rangers and conservationists who are fighting to save these extraordinary creatures from extinction. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Also included is one plant species, an orchid, making me aware of the practice of plant poaching, which is making many species of plant similarly in danger of extinction. Sharks can navigate the ocean using electromagnetic fields; sloths use algae as camouflage; albatross can fly for hours without beating their wings; and orca pods each have unique cultures and languages. With a third mass extinction on our doorstep, it's also very timely, and I'm delighted to see that it's been written by one of the foremost of the generation of new, young naturalists that are helping to change our perception and appreciation of the natural world.
